Cosy, attractive old pub with good range of ales & friendly staff.
Good value for money. Visited with a walking group. The majority of us had the light bite steak and ale pie. The pie with veg plus a drink was less than 10.00. Tasty and well presented although we did have to wait for service
Fantastic food with huge portions, decent beer, amazing price. Go for a walk around the kinder reservoir to feel like you've deserved it beforehand.
Spent an overnight stay here and really enjoyed it. We had booked a large family room and it had a lovely en-suite with a very large shower. Instead of a bath. Much preferable. Everything was very clean and we had a comfortable bed. The room was very well soundproofed. Bar area had a quite historic feel with several stained glass windows. Great cask ales on tap were bonus. Beer garden at the back. Restaurant area and bar meals available. The meals were nice too. Recommended.
A quiet pub, serving average pub meals. A good variety of veggie and gluten free meals. We opted for the 2 courses for 10' option. Not overly big portions on this option, but plenty big enough when having with a dessert. Dogs are allowed on the stone floor area. The atmosphere was flat, not helped by the miserable staff!!
