Used to come here all the time and loved the food. Unfortunately it appears to have changed hands and has gone down hill. Food took a very long time to arrive considering there was only 1 couple in at the same time as us. When the food came I found a hair in my food and my husband found 3, i couldn't eat any more as it made me feel ill! I understand this happens, but 4 hairs across 2 meals seems excessive. To their credit, we didn't have to pay for the meals that had the hairs, but they didn't seem very apologetic and just commented that everyone has hair. The young lady serving gave us the impression this happens quite often. Why hair nets are not worn I have no idea. After this experience we won't be going again.

Had Afternoon tea here as a treat by my daughters. What a warm friendly welcome we had. From start to end we had first class service and the Sandwiches and cakes were very tasty and filling.would highly recommend . Will be back to sample more tasty meals
Good tasting locally sourced food, and not over priced either. Nicely done home made cakes and good coffee.
We stopped an elderly gentleman in "Chapel" asking him if could recommend a good place for coffee and cake. He pointed to Stocks and said I go there every day and it's very good and the staff are wonderful. So we tried it and the gentleman was spot on. Very very friendly staff with excellent coffee and a wide range of sweet stuff. Turned out the gentleman was 100 years old and had survived the Somme in World War One and after his daily visit to Stocks he potters along to the bookies for a flutter on the horses. Hope he had a winner today.
